High-Excursion Bass Performance with HEDGE Surround Technology

Despite its compact size, the BRV-S40C delivers impressive bass output thanks to Alpine’s all-new HEDGE surround technology (High Excursion Design Gathered Edge). This advanced surround structure is engineered to significantly increase woofer excursion, allowing the speaker to move more air and generate higher sound pressure levels in the 67Hz to 120Hz frequency range.

With a maximum linear excursion peak of up to 20mm, the BRV-S40C produces bass that is tight, punchy, and controlled—far exceeding the performance of conventional 4-inch factory speakers. This makes it an ideal solution for vehicles where larger speakers or subwoofers are not practical.

Lightweight Polypropylene Woofer for Clean, Accurate Sound

The combination of the dense magnet structure, HEDGE surround, and optimised voice coil allows the BRV-S40C to achieve impressive output levels from a compact footprint, making it well-suited for space-restricted installations.

High frequencies are handled by 1-inch polyester soft dome tweeters designed to deliver smooth, detailed, and natural sound. The low-mass polyester diaphragm accurately reproduces subtle transients and fine musical detail, ensuring vocals and instruments remain clear and well-defined.

Equipped with Neodymium magnets, the tweeters achieve excellent efficiency and control in a compact design. This results in clean, articulate high-frequency reproduction with a smooth upper harmonic range extending up to 20kHz, enhancing overall sound staging and realism.

OEM-Friendly Tweeter Fitment for Stealth Installations

The BRV-S40C tweeters are engineered for flexible installation in factory locations. By removing the supplied housing and trim ring, the tweeter becomes compact enough to fit into many OEM tweeter mounts such as A-pillars, mirror triangles, or door sail panels.

This design allows for a clean, factory-style appearance with minimal modification, making the BRV-S40C an excellent choice for discreet audio upgrades that preserve the original interior design.
